So the Swallowtail re-knit is going quite well. I’m on the last chart, probably about six rows or so from the end. That ball of yarn is about an inch in diameter, so it’ll be a race to the finish. I have more of the yarn so it’s not a problem if I run out, but I’m curious to see if I can get fairly close to the original amount of yarn.
It’ll have to wait till I go back to my grandparents’ for the summer before it can get blocked, but I’m looking forward to having it back to its original state. It’s interesting to see the difference between the part that was already blocked and the newly knitted stitches. I think the yarn being kinked up makes it a little more rough than it would be normally, but it’s still pretty cool to compare.
This week, I’m going to try and block a scarf that I knit a while back, without the help of blocking wires. At least my couch is cloth-covered and I can stick t-pins into it, so that’ll make it easier.
