FO: Amy’s Scarf

What do I do when I’ve got a lot of work with a relaxed deadline and no desire to actually sit and work? I finish up old knitting projects, among other things. This one has been sitting in a box since October last year, waiting for the right time. Now, the middle of the summer might not exactly be the “right” time for blocking wool scarves, but hopefully, given that it’s August already, it’ll start cooling off more soon and I can get some wear out of it. an experiment in knitting

I’ve been trying to find something to knit, but lately, everything I’ve tried has ended up getting frogged before I got even a quarter of the way through. I don’t know what it is, nothing just seems to hold my attention. But winter is coming (or, well, it’s already here, really) and I need a hat (among other things) because all my old hats are stretched out and loose and don’t really keep my ears warm when they’re supposed to.

getting there…

So the Swallowtail re-knit is going quite well. I’m on the last chart, probably about six rows or so from the end. That ball of yarn is about an inch in diameter, so it’ll be a race to the finish. I have more of the yarn so it’s not a problem if I run out, but I’m curious to see if I can get fairly close to the original amount of yarn. It’ll have to wait till I go back to my grandparents’ for the summer before it can get blocked, but I’m looking  ...
